Description

The 10 Kronor banknote from Sweden, issued in 1968, represents a significant piece of currency that blends artistic elements with security features. This commemorative note celebrates the 300th anniversary of the Sveriges Riksbank and combines vibrant colors with intricate designs. With its depiction of historical motifs, this banknote not only serves as a medium of exchange but also as a collectible item for enthusiasts.

Obverse (front)
The front of the 10 Kronor banknote prominently features the inscription 'SVERIGES RIKSBANK' along with the value '10' and the word 'KRONOR.' The background displays a swirling pattern of pastel colors, embellished with a stylized depiction of a figure from history, symbolizing Sweden's rich cultural heritage. The safety features may include a watermark of Charles XI, visible when the note is held up to the light. Microprinting and color-shifting ink also enhance its security.

Reverse (back)
On the reverse side, the design highlights a striking illustration of a seated female figure, representing justice, accompanied by a lion's head. The text '1668-1968' marks the commemorative nature of the note, celebrating the Riksbank's establishment. The background includes intricate floral designs and a rich blue color palette, making it visually striking. As with the front, security features such as a hologram may be present, ensuring protection against counterfeiting.

COMMEMORATIVE: Special edition banknote issued to mark a significant event. Usually released in limited quantities, enhancing its rarity and collectibility.
