Description

The 100 Naira banknote from Nigeria commemorates the centenary of the legendary Chief Obafemi Awolowo. This beautifully designed note not only highlights Nigeria's rich history but also showcases advanced security features. The vibrant colors dominate the front side, featuring a prominent portrait of Awolowo, adorned with intricate patterns and notable security elements such as a watermark and micro-text. The use of deep purples and brilliant hues enhances its aesthetic appeal while also protecting against counterfeiting. The reverse side features notable symbols reflective of Nigeria’s culture, reinforcing the significance of this currency in daily transactions.

Obverse (front)
On the front side of the 100 Naira banknote, the portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo is strikingly displayed, surrounded by decorative designs that emphasize Nigeria's cultural heritage. The year '2021' is printed clearly, and the denomination 'N100' is prominently featured, ensuring easy recognition. The background incorporates beautiful purple tones and geometric patterns. Important security features include a transparent window containing micro-printed text and a watermark, both of which add authenticity and make counterfeiting more difficult. The overall design represents a blend of artistic expression and functional security.

Reverse (back)
The reverse side of the banknote provides a contrast to the front with its lighter hues and additional designs. It features the emblem of the Central Bank of Nigeria and other cultural motifs, symbolizing the nation's agricultural strength, including images of cotton. The text 'One Hundred Naira' and the denomination are beautifully integrated into the overall design. This side also has enhanced security features, such as metallic threads and color-shifting ink that make the note challenging to replicate. The overall theme celebrates Nigeria's past while looking toward the future.
